モデル名 "TEUFELHUND" とはアメリカ海兵隊のニックネーム "Devil Dog/デビルドッグ" (※1下記参照)の意で、第一次世界大戦時ドイツ兵が彼らを "Teufelshunde/地獄犬" と呼んだことに由来しております。
フロント右胸には1944年太平洋南で展開した "Scout Bombing VMSB 932部隊" ブルックリンボーイズの3人が所属したとされるスコードロンをモチーフにマスコットのブルドッグフェイス、左胸にはマリンコーのマークが染み込みプリントされております。
バックには部隊名 "VMSB 932" をエアブラシ "スコードロン風２つ目デビルドッグ" "DEVIL・DOGS" を染み込みプリントにてバランス良く配置しております。
ボディにはフリーホイーラーズ オリジナル "Cotton Hard Twist Kersey/コットンハード ツイスト カルゼ" を使用した"Gemsa/ジェムサ" を採用しております。
綿100%の強く撚った太番手のムラ糸を使用し、2/2の綾織りで高密度に織り上げた生地になります。
仕上げに表面を毛焼きしておりますので、独特なシャリ感があり着込む程に経年変化も楽しめます。
衿はやや小ぶりなワイドスプレッド型でチンストも付きます。
やや低い位置に取り付けた変形ポケットは右側はフラップとボタン付きで、左側のポケットは上からと内側横から収納出来る2重仕様になります。
ボタンは4つ穴碁石型尿素ボタンを採用しております。
フロントの裾裏には品質保証タグのユニオンチケットが取り付けられており、裾の両脇にはマチが付いております。
丈は少し長めで、裾のラウンドは緩めのクセの無いシルエットですので着やすく使い勝手の良いシャツとなります。 -

建国以来、増加する移民の受け皿として急速に都市化が進められていったアメリカ東海岸。
道を敷き、橋を架け、鉄路を伸ばし、摩天楼を築く。
それは他でもない。 “アメリカを創ること”そのものだったのだ。
そうした国づくりの担い手たる、都市労働者たちのワークウェアから着想を得たブランドが 『ユニオンスペシャルオーバーオールズ』である。
デニムをはじめ、コットンダックやウール地、さらにスタイフェル社のインディゴクロスなどワークウェアの黎明期ともいえる時代を彩った、多彩なマテリアルを駆使。
まさにアメリカの発展とともにあった、ワークウェアの進化を素描する。

"DEVIL DOG" は "VMF 111" という第111海兵飛行戦闘隊の事で、この部隊の別名が "DEVIL・DOGS" と呼ばれており、第二次世界大戦中に西太平洋ニューギニア、マリアナ沖で日本の零戦と戦った部隊となり1942年7月から45年の9月までの約2年間の間、戦闘した部隊になります。
また、アメリカ海兵隊 "USMC" はアメリカ合衆国の軍隊の中でも最も古い歴史を持ち、1775年に設立されました。
海兵隊は、陸上・海上・空中の戦闘を行うアメリカ軍の中でも最も優れた戦闘部隊の1つとされています。
