    糸にはどんな素材にも多少なりとも水分が含まれています。
    この糸の水分量を表す指標を "公定水分率" と言います。
    糸は、売買をする際に「重量」で値段が変わっていきます。
    しかし、糸は水分を吸ったり吐いたりしていて、常に一定の水分量を保有しているわけではないので、環境によって重量が大きく変わってしまいます。
    そこで定められたのが、この "公定水分率" というもので、温度20°C、湿度65%の環境での糸が保有する水分率を表しています。

    今回使用した生地に使われている特殊ナイロン糸には、なんと通常の2倍の公定水分率を有しています。
    ナイロンには高い放湿性と熱伝導性があります。
    放湿するとき熱が奪われ生地の温度が下がるため、放湿性が高いと温度が下がりやすくなります。
    もちろん元々の水分量が多ければその放湿量は多くなります。
    また、高い熱伝導性は、周りの熱を生地に流れやすくします。
    つまり、高い熱伝導性により体の熱が生地に流れ、その生地に流れた熱は、今度は高い防湿性によりすぐに生地を冷ましていきます。
    そしてその冷めた生地が体に触れることで冷たく感じます。

    それと同時にまた体の熱が生地に流れ・・・というように体の熱が放出されることにより永続的に機能がループしていき涼しさを感じ続けることができるということです。

    またこの素材は、ダブルニット(ダブルジャージー)と呼ばれるものになり、表と裏を別糸で同時に編んだ二重のニットです。
    一重のシングルニットに比べて、腰があり厚くて丈夫です。
    また表と裏の糸を変えることでそれぞれ違った特性を持たせることが出来ます。
    今回は表糸には、さらっとした肌触りのコンパクトコットンを使用しているため、天然繊維特有の程よい光沢と高級感があり、かつ裏糸に先程ご説明した特殊ナイロン系を使用して接触冷感機能を持たせたテクニカル素材となります。
