モデル名 "MECHANIC CAP" は40年代米軍に採用された "A-3" メカニックキャップをモチーフにしております。
1930～40年当時、メカニック達はバイクや車、航空機などの作業中にこのタイプのキャップを被って作業しいる場合が多く、顔を近付け作業する際に、長いツバが当たり邪魔にならないようツバを上に曲げて被っておりました。
その為、ツバに薄い生地を挟み芯を入れず曲げやすく、強度も出るステッチを沢山入れております。
また、ツバに芯がない為、折り曲げてポケットに仕舞え重宝したようです。
6枚ハギ仕様の丸く浅めの帽体で、接ぎ目の裏には ヘリンボーン生地で補強テープが縫い付けてあります。
生地にはフリーホイーラーズ オリジナル "Vintage Heavy Weight Herringbone Twill" COTTON 100%を採用しております。
ヴィンテージの雰囲気を再現したヘリンボーンツイルとなり、着用と共に良い経年変化が楽しめます。 -
