Col NAVY PIN STRIPE
モデル名 "DERRICKMAN" とは、ドリリング・クルーの一員で、
揚降管作業を行うときに櫓の中間に取り付けられている
セカンド・プラットフォーム(四本場)へ登り、
掘り管やドリル・カラーの上端をエレベーターに
掛けたり外したりする仕事を主な任務とする者達からとなります。
主要部を巻き縫いのトリプルステッチで仕上げ、
両太ももに付いたポケット、
ダブルニー仕様など1920～30年代頃の
ワークスタイルモデルをモチーフとしております。
ボディにはフリーホイーラーズオリジナルの古い年代の
"Stifel/スタイフェル" 社製生地に見られる
大変希少価値のある生地を再現した
"Vintage Style Moleskin Discharge Printed Pin-Stripe Pattern/
ヴィンテージスタイル モールスキン ディスチャージプリンティッド ピンストライプ パターン"
を使用しております。
やや厚手のモールスキンをベースに着色抜染をした細かいストライプで、
この手法を作り上げたのが "STIFLE" 社で、
別名 "IRONCLAD/アイアンクラッド" 鋼鉄の様な雰囲気のある生地となります。
最大の特徴である ダブルニーの上はポケット仕様で、
デリックマンならではとなります。
バックスタイルはハの時型ポケットで
センターにハンマーループが付きます。
バックルは無塗装仕様の角形で
"UNION MADE" の刻印が入ります。
尾錠は鋭い形状になっておりますのでご注意下さい。
フロントボタンは鉄ボタンを採用しており、
トップボタンは銅足仕様となります。
着用を重ねると錆び付きヴィンテージの様な良い雰囲気になります。
フロントボタン左側には、
ボタンフライの製法が一枚生地で作られている
(非常に手間のかかる仕様)事を示す
"ONE PIECE FLY" のタグが取り付けられております。
フロントポケットのスレーキ裾は破れ防止の為、
二重構造仕様で耐久性にも十分な配慮がされております。
バックポケットの内側下部にも補強の為、
二重構造仕様で、生地が貼り付けられております。
左ヒップポケット裏には
ユニオンチケットが縫い付けられております。
裾の処理は三つ折りで二本のステッチ仕様です。

「UNION SPECIAL OVERALLS」
建国以来、増加する移民の受け皿として急速に都市化が進められていったアメリカ東海岸。
道を敷き、橋を架け、鉄路を伸ばし、摩天楼を築く。
それは他でもない。
“アメリカを創ること” そのものだったのだ。
そうした国づくりの担い手たる、都市労働者たちのワークウェアから着想を得たブランドが 『ユニオンスペシャルオーバーオールズ』である。
デニムをはじめ、コットンダックやウール地、 さらにスタイフェル社のインディゴクロスなど ワークウェアの黎明期ともいえる時代を彩った、多彩なマテリアルを駆使。
まさにアメリカの発展とともにあった、 ワークウェアの進化を素描する。
「J.L. Stifel Co」
ドイツ移民としてアメリカに渡ったJ.L.シュティフェルが1835年に創業した染色工場を前身とする織物メーカー『スタイフェル』。
同メーカーを一躍有名にしたのが、20世紀初頭に発表されたウォバッシュストライプのインディゴクロスだ。
シリンダーを使ったインディゴ生地への連続プリントという特殊な製法によって生まれたその素材は、ワークウェアに無二の趣を与えてくれる。
ウォバッシュストライプと呼ばれる生地を作っていたことで有名。
1859年から社名「J.L.Stifel & sons」と改めています。
